Sara discovered her passion for design at a very young age as she moved amongst the fabrics, threads and seamstresses of her parent’s shop in Panama City, where her imagination began to create the images she would one day bring to life. The third generation of a highly successful family in the textile business, Sara Bassan continues to cut new paths into the world of fashion.
Transforming fabric into unique pieces of clothing is art for Sara, and not only comes effortlessly, but without planning. To Sara Bassan, fashion is second nature.
By only working with European fabrics, Sara is known for her unexpected twists and delicate, yet everlasting designs.
Sara takes pride in dressing the self-confident woman who searches for elegance and uniqueness… the woman who never ages and forever travels the world in her heart.
With over 20 years in fashion, Sara has adorned the likes of First Ladies, Beauty Queens, celebrities and socialites alike with her designs… transforming each of them with her impeccable style.
Vogue en Espanol honored Sara by naming her one of the Ten Best Fashion Designers in Latin America. And with her multiple participations in Miami Fashion Week, Sara garnered for herself the Excellence Award for Evening Gown Design. As well, Sara has represented Panama in Bogotá Fashion, and received the L’Oreal Best Designer Award at Dias de Moda; the most prestigious award in Panama’s fashion industry.
Sara lives in Panama City with her husband and her four children where she still manages her parent’s textile business from her haute couture atelier.
